[Video] Thinking Through Our "2 to 100 Club"

September 21, 2020

This week on the show, Strazza and I chat with Howard Lindzon as we continue thinking through our "2 to 100" List and how to best set our parameters. Remember, we're looking for the next $100 Billion companies.

We already have industry filters, momentum & relative strength, market capitalization and now we're working in some social sentiment to really give this list some juice. These things are always a work in progress, so I hope this gives you some insight as to how we think through our ideas and have a little fun along the way.

Here is our conversation in full:

[Video] "What The FICC?" Episode 6

September 11, 2020

From the desk of Tom Bruni @BruniCharting

The Fixed Income, Commodity, and Currency markets are near and dear to my heart. Ever since I began learning Technical Analysis, I've always loved analyzing things that are "off the beaten path." This included everything from Interest Rates to Soybeans to the Norwegian Krone. Equities are great and all, but this is the stuff that gets me up in the morning.

In addition to the blog posts we do on the site, I've wanted to explore new ways to share that passion with you all and show why even if you're not investing in these markets directly, they're worth paying attention to.

That brings us to my weekly show, "What The FICC?"

In this weekly video series, I'll be highlighting the most important chart or theme from these three asset classes while doing my best to tie that analysis back to Equities through an intermarket signal or a trade idea.

This week's episode is linked below, enjoy!

[Video] Find People to Synthesize Information

September 9, 2020

This week on the show, Howard and I talk about the value in finding people to synthesize information for you. Howard is one of the best people I know at doing this, and I've picked up a few tricks from him over the years.

We can't be experts in everything. But with new tools and technology, we now have the ability to rely on other subject matter experts to point us in the right direction and give us perspective on how they see the world. I've found this process to be incredibly valuable. I encourage you to try it!

[Video] Big Trends Monthly w/ Josh Brown (EP.2)

September 2, 2020

Welcome to Episode 2 of the JC & Josh Brown show that he likes to call, "Big Trends Monthly". This is where we discuss a handful of the most important monthly charts that stood out during my review.

I'm always preaching how this is probably the most valuable part of my entire process: Monthly Charts! It's only something I have to do 12 times a year and might take me 30-45 minutes each month. This forces us to take a step back and gives us no choice but to identify the directions of the primary trends.

Josh Brown is one of the most widely followed financial advisors in the country, and he appreciates these monthly candles as much as anyone. So we're now doing a monthly show about it. You can catch up on last month's episode here.

Check out latest show where we discuss what happened in August and what it means to us moving forward:

[Video] The Next $100B Companies w/ Howard Lindzon

September 1, 2020

This week on the show, Howard and I talk about a really cool new scan that we've been working on here internally. You see, we do a ton of top/down analysis at Allstarcharts. So we've developed a series of bottoms/up filters to help supplement all that top/down work that we already do. This way, it makes it really hard for us to miss anything.

We recorded this video a couple of weeks ago and have already made a lot of progress on this concept of "2 to 100". We're looking for stocks graduating from Small-cap and entering Mid-cap status ($2B+ Market Cap). We'll be putting out more information on this particular universe of stock ideas soon, but for now check out how a friendly conversation can turn into a new valuable tool in a matter of weeks!

[Video] Happy Hour w/ Traders: The Breadth Debate

August 21, 2020

This week on Happy Hour with Traders, I brought together some of the best minds when it comes to stock market breadth. You see all the breadth charts on twitter and you always hear debate about whether market breadth is weakening or improving. I think this round table discussion clears up a lot of misconceptions about the subject. I think it also gave each of us new ideas about how to approach the market from a weight-of-the-evidence perspective. I know I definitely got some new ideas that I want to start to do some more work on.

This is why we have these conversions. I'm fortunate to have really smart friends around the world that all view markets in their own unique ways. So I'm going to try my best to show them off so you can learn from them too!

Here's the latest Happy Hour with special guests Andrew Thrasher, Willie Delwiche, Mike Hurley and Steve Strazza. Enjoy!

Media Appearance: Sector Rotation Supports S&P500 To 4000

August 13, 2020

It's always fun chatting with Catherine over at BNN Bloomberg. She has the uncanny ability of getting me on her show just at the right time! In February, I explained very clearly why we were raising cash (the week before the biggest market crash ever), and then in early July I was screaming on television to buy stocks aggressively, just before a slew of new sectors started breaking out to the upside.

Today, I have a similar bullish view. This is a market that is rewarding us for buying stocks. That's the bottom line. And we don't see any evidence of that changing yet. Catherine also asked me about the Bond Market and I explained why I think rates go higher.

We like the have fun with these. Life is short. I hope you enjoy it!
